In November 2023, Coimbra Sports filed a complaint with FIFA claiming that FC Porto failed to pay the amount due to them for the transfer of Otávio to Al Nassr.

The previous administration led by Pinto da Costa received an early tranche of €19 million from Al Nassr. The money was used to cover current expenses, salaries, taxes, and payments to clubs for other player transfers.

Otávio transferred from FC Porto to Al Nassr in the summer of last year. The transfer was influenced by the signing of Neymar by Al Hilal, which enabled Al Nassr to secure additional funds.
