Liverpool are interested in signing Takefusa Kubo. The Real Sociedad star has been mentioned in previous windows, but reports from Japan suggest a deal could happen in the near future. If a deal was to be done, it's reported that Kubo would set Liverpool back approximately £50m due to a release clause in his contract.

Reds are prepared to activate the release clause for the 23-year-old midfielder; Real Madrid holds 50% of a future sale. According to Sponichi Annex, the Reds have already made a formal offer to the Basque club, who are willing to activate the release clause for the midfielder set at 60 million euros. Representatives of the player are already in Liverpool to finalize the last details of the transfer.

Liverpool has identified Takefusa Kubo as the priority target to replace Mohamed Salah. The club is ready to spend 65 million euros to recruit the 23-year-old attacking midfielder from Real Sociedad.

Liverpool is willing to pay the release clause of 60 million euros to acquire Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad. Kubo joined Real Sociedad from Real Madrid in 2022, and Real Madrid retained 50% of his rights. If the transfer happens, Real Madrid will earn 27 million euros from the transaction.

Following his departure from Real Madrid in July 2022 for just €6.5m, the Japan international has worked hard to prove that he’s capable of playing at the highest level. Last season the young forward played predominantly through the middle and bagged no less than 18 goals and assists in 44 games for Sociedad in all competitions, but this season has seen Kubo move out right and play almost exclusively as a right winger. There, the young star has bagged seven goals and five assists in 41 games in the previous campaign and at just 23 years of age there’s little doubt that he could score even more in a team surrounded by top-class players.
