Boavista has successfully signed Osman Kakay now that they are free from FIFA's transfer bans and can register players. However, they are restricted to signing only unemployed footballers since the winter market is closed. Previously, Boavista had been unable to register players for five consecutive transfer windows due to these bans. They have now managed to secure Osman Kakay's services, along with other unemployed players such as Layvin Kurzawa, Moussa Koné, Marco van Ginkel, Tomas Vaclik, and Sidoine Fogning. Despite this progress, there remains a risk of additional bans being imposed at any moment, as evidenced by the recent announcement of two new bans.
