Maximiliano Araújo Transfer from Toluca to Sporting CP
Sporting has signed Maximiliano Araújo from Toluca. The transfer fee is 13.6 million euros, with potential additional payments depending on the player's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The player will be with Sporting for five seasons, until 2029, with a release clause set at 80 million euros. Intermediary services cost 1,366,783.56 euros.
Sporting Lisbon has bolstered its offensive flanks by acquiring 24-year-old Maximiliano Javier Araújo Vilches from Toluca. The Uruguayan player has committed to a contract running until June 30, 2029. Araujo, who began his career at Montevideo Wanderers, moved to Mexico in 2020 when he was signed by Puebla. Three years later, he transferred to Toluca, earning the club a significant profit as he cost just over 5 million. He has already made 14 appearances for the Uruguayan national team, scoring three goals.
