Giorgi Kochorashvili Transfer from Levante to Sporting CP

Sporting Lisbon had a pre-agreement to sign Giorgi Kochorashvili from Levante in January for a discounted price. The agreement was intended to remain secret until the summer, but Celtic's bid forced Sporting to announce the deal and pay the pre-agreed fee. The fee includes €5.5m plus €2m in variables. Kochorashvili will leave Levante in the summer.

Giorgi Kochorashvili, a Georgian midfielder, has been officially signed by Sporting CP in a deal valued at €5.5 million, with an additional €2 million contingent on certain objectives. The player is secured with a release clause set at €80 million, and his contract will run until 2030. Sporting CP has acquired the full rights to Kochorashvili, while the Spanish club Levante will retain 12.5% of any future added value, although this percentage can be reduced to 10% at Sporting's discretion. The news was confirmed by both Levante and Sporting CP through detailed communications regarding the winter transfer market activities.

Sporting CP has set its sights on Giorgi Kochorashvili for the 2025/2026 season. Under the leadership of Bernardo Palmeiro and Flávio Costa, the club is planning a €7 million investment, which includes €5.5 million upfront and an additional €1.5 million in variables, to secure the services of the Georgian midfielder. Known for his impressive performances with Levante and as a key player for the Georgian national team, Kochorashvili's transfer was initially influenced by former Sporting director Hugo Viana. Marc Baró, familiar with Kochorashvili from their time together at CF Peralada, has expressed admiration for the player's competitiveness and professionalism, suggesting that he will be a valuable asset to Sporting CP.
