Matías Rojas Transfer from Inter Miami to River Plate

Matías Rojas joined River Plate on a free transfer after leaving Inter Miami. Marcelo Gallardo, the coach of River Plate, personally called Rojas to convince him to join the team. Rojas was previously on Boca Juniors' radar, but River Plate acted quickly to secure his transfer. The negotiations were led by Gallardo himself, and the contract terms were quickly agreed upon.

Matías Rojas is on the verge of joining River Plate. He reached Buenos Aires on January 3, 2025, to undergo medical examinations and finalize a contract with the club that will last until December 2025. Rojas is joining as a free agent after deciding not to renew his contract with Inter Miami. As a former Corinthians player, he is expected to strengthen the squad managed by coach Marcelo Gallardo, without the club having to pay any transfer fees. During his tenure at Inter Miami, he participated in 20 matches, netting nine goals and providing two assists. His arrival is part of River Plate's extensive recruitment effort for 2025, which also includes the acquisition of players like Enzo Pérez and Gonzalo Tapia. The club is gearing up for their participation in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup.
