After leaving Terengganu, Marin Pilj expressed his desire to return to his former club Osijek. Despite having an option to return, it didn't come to fruition as he had hoped. Pilj shared his emotional connection to Osijek, which is his hometown club, and his wish to eventually return there at the end of his career. He noted that although he had some options, he preferred not to disclose details since anything could happen.
