Marcus Edwards Transfer from Sporting CP to Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham are reportedly very interested in re-signing Marcus Edwards from Sporting CP. Edwards, who initially left Tottenham for the Portuguese team Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2019, had 50 percent of his economic rights retained by Spurs at the time. When he joined Sporting CP in 2022, Tottenham maintained their economic rights, although these were later reduced to 35 percent as part of the deal that brought Pedro Porro to the club. This arrangement could allow Tottenham to acquire Edwards at a lower effective cost than other teams, as they would recover 35 percent of the transfer fee.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with former player Marcus Edwards of Sporting CP in order to meet the quota for academy-trained players for next season's Europa League squad.
Tottenham is also interested in signing Marcus Edwards, who now plays for Sporting CP.
Marcus Edwards, a 25-year-old English winger, is one of the most sought-after assets in the Sporting market, particularly from the Premier League. Edwards, who was trained at Tottenham and still holds some of his economic rights, is looking forward to a return to England. Tottenham and West Ham, two London clubs, continue to be associated with the winger. Sporting is open to a deal for the player, but the values are not very pleasing for potential interested parties, as they are around €20M.
Also on Tottenham's radar is a move to re-sign winger Marcus Edwards from Sporting CP.
