Malo Gusto Transfer from Chelsea to Manchester City
Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly considering the acquisition of Chelsea defender Malo Gusto in 2025. The French defender has made a significant impact since his transfer to Stamford Bridge last summer and currently holds the position of Enzo Maresca's preferred right-back, given Reece James' ongoing injury issues. Gusto has accumulated 10 Premier League starts this season, and his performance over the past 18 months has drawn the attention of both Liverpool and Man City, as reported by Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips. Additionally, there is speculation that Man City is likely to seek a new right-back next summer following Kyle Walker’s recent decline in form at the Etihad Stadium. The England player has faced substantial criticism throughout the 2024-25 season, and Pep Guardiola's team is anticipated to secure a replacement next year.
Manchester City is also considering a move for Malo Gusto as they have a need for a new right-back. Despite Chelsea having zero plans to negotiate over selling Gusto, his fine form has attracted serious interest from Manchester City.
