Atlético Madrid has made an official inquiry regarding his status, while Villarreal and Betis have also shown interest in the 23-year-old Argentine midfielder. His parent club, Aston Villa, is considering either a transfer or another loan, as his current position at the club is filled by Kamara and Onana. Alongside these clubs, Mallorca is also examining the possibility of signing Barrenechea, who has played a pivotal role under Carlos Corberán's management at Mestalla. Meanwhile, Aston Villa's manager, Unai Emery, reportedly wants to assess Barrenechea during the pre-season, although a departure from Villa Park remains a strong possibility.
