Jonathan Burkardt is considering a move to a club that can guarantee regular Champions League football. It is uncertain if Eintracht Frankfurt can meet this condition, hence a move abroad is also possible.

Christian Heidel, the sporting director of Mainz 05, indicated that the club would not stand in Jonathan Burkardt's way if he decided to request a transfer. Heidel noted that it is typical for a player performing exceptionally well to draw interest from other clubs. However, he stressed that at present, this is not a consideration for either party, as Burkardt remains fully committed to Mainz. Heidel also reported that there is no set price for Burkardt and that the club is under no financial pressure to sell players. Burkardt's contract with Mainz is valid until 2027.
