Holstein Kiel has officially announced the signing of 22-year-old John Tolkin from New York Red Bulls, effective immediately. The transfer fee is reported to be close to three million euros, with the MLS representative receiving a resale participation. Tolkin becomes the new record transfer for the Bundesliga newcomer, capable of playing both defensively and offensively on the left side. Carsten Wehlmann, Managing Director of Sports at Kiel, expressed his delight, stating that they were able to sign an experienced player for their left side despite his age. He added that Tolkin fits perfectly into their requirements profile and they are convinced he will quickly acclimate and integrate into the team.
