Jeremiah St. Juste leaving Sporting CP?
A Bola reports on the ongoing interest in Jeremiah St. Juste from Bundesliga clubs and other markets. Jeremiah St. Juste is still valued in Germany, where he previously played, and two Bundesliga clubs are currently showing interest in him. Apart from Germany, there are also potential offers from other more exotic markets that might appeal to both the player and Sporting.
Jeremiah St. Juste is set to depart from Sporting following the conclusion of the current season. Although he is regarded as a highly talented central defender, his tenure at Sporting has been plagued by injuries, resulting in over 400 days of absence from the field. Sporting is contemplating selling him this summer to recoup part of the 10 million euros they spent when acquiring him from Mainz. His contract with Sporting remains valid until June 2026; however, he might commit to a different club by January 2026. Sporting has expressed openness to offers ranging from 5 to 7.5 million euros, as his market value is assessed at 8 million euros according to Transfermarkt.
St. Juste, a Dutch player with a significant history of injuries since joining Sporting in the summer of 2022, is entering the last year of his contract, making his departure a likely scenario. He was originally contracted from Mainz for €10 million, and Sporting aims to recover as much of this investment as possible.
Sporting CP is contemplating the potential departure of Jeremiah St. Juste. Despite facing physical challenges and not playing regularly, he is still valued at €8 million as per Transfermarkt. The club is willing to consider offers that would yield a financial gain on their investment, considering his contract runs until 2026. It was reported that PSV had shown interest earlier this season with a loan proposal, but Sporting CP turned it down.
PSV Eindhoven, the current champion of the Netherlands, has shown interest in Jeremiah St. Juste since the winter transfer window. Sporting invested €9.5 million to acquire St. Juste from Mainz in the summer of 2022 and is now asking for €10 million to release the 27-year-old defender. PSV Eindhoven is reluctant to meet this price, and their interest has waned slightly. They will only reconsider if Sporting lowers the asking price, which is not expected to happen.
