Giovanni Leoni Transfer from Padova to Sampdoria
Giovanni Leoni is officially a player of Sampdoria. The club announced the acquisition of the player from Padova. He arrived in Genoa in January on loan with an option to buy set at 1.5 million euros, plus a small percentage on any future capital gain.
Sampdoria will buy Giovanni Leoni from Padova for 1.5 million euros. After the purchase, he will be sold to Torino for a price close to 4.5 million euros, but he will stay on loan at Sampdoria for another year.
Giovanni Leoni, a 17-year-old defender loaned from Sampdoria in January, has already played several high-level matches in Serie B, many as a starter. Samp seems intent on redeeming him for 1.5 million from the Venetians. Leoni was an intuition of the Dorian sports director Andrea Mancini, who fished him in Lega Pro. However, the 2006 class boy was not entirely unknown to insiders. On him, says Il Secolo XIX, there were also top clubs such as Inter. Samp was good at convincing the player, also offering him the opportunity to play with some continuity. Now the player will be purchased outright by Sampdoria. The future is still to be resolved. For him, several companies have moved, first in chronological order Juventus, then also Torino with the ds Vagnati who followed him live on some occasions. But Leoni's fate for now seems to be at Samp: even if the Genoese club decides to sell him to one of the A companies that are courting him, it is likely that he will remain on loan in Genoa for another year.
