Éderson Transfer from Atalanta to Real Madrid
Team Talk reports on Real Madrid's interest in signing Atalanta's Ederson, potentially impacting Manchester United's transfer plans. Real Madrid plan to deal a blow to Manchester United’s chances of signing Atalanta defensive midfielder Ederson. United are keen on a deal for the Brazilian star, but Madrid have already opened informal contacts.
Ederson, a Brazilian midfielder currently playing for Atalanta, has drawn the interest of Real Madrid, who reportedly view him as the perfect successor to Casemiro. Although Atalanta was defeated in both matches against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup and the Champions League, Ederson was lauded by the media for his defensive skills, which Real Madrid has been searching for in a midfielder. Previous attempts to replace Casemiro, including Camavinga and Tchouaméni, did not meet expectations due to their insufficient defensive contributions. Ederson joined Atalanta in the summer of 2022 from Salernitana for a transfer fee of 23 million euros, with his contract extending until the end of June 2027. According to Italian media, Atalanta would consider selling him only for offers exceeding 60 million euros.
Real Madrid has reportedly started informal discussions with Atalanta to explore the possibility of acquiring Éderson. It is believed that the transfer fee might reach up to 60 million euros. Sources indicate that Atalanta is currently unwilling to part with Éderson in this market, but a transfer might be feasible in the summer if offers align with the previously suggested amounts. Éderson is recognized as a vital player in Serie A, and Real Madrid is seeking a midfielder to bolster their squad for the upcoming summer. Éderson, who is under contract with Atalanta until June 2027, made a strong impression during a match at the Santiago Bernabéu last December, where his performance against players such as Vinicius, Bellingham, and Valverde caught the eye of the Madrid club. Despite Atalanta's current hesitance to let him go, there is an understanding that a summer transfer could be on the cards if the financial terms are satisfactory, considering that Atalanta turned down substantial offers exceeding 50 million euros in the previous transfer window.
