Domagoj Drožđek will not remain a member of Varaždin in the new season. He has decided to continue his career in Cyprus as a member of Apollon Limassol. Drožđek has signed a two-season contract with Apollon Limassol.

Domagoj Drožđek, one of the most recognizable forwards of the team, leaves the club after a successful season where he demonstrated exceptional skill and combativeness on the field. His contribution in the last season was significant, but the club decided to go in a new direction.

Domagoj Drožđek had a great season with seven goals, two each for Dinamo, Rijeka and Gorica, and one for Hajduk in a 1-0 victory for Varaždin at Poljud. Drožđek started his senior football in the second team of Borussia Dortmund, and this is his third term in Varaždin. He spent two seasons in Lokomotiva between his first and second term, and between the second and third in the Korean Busan IPark. He returned to Varaždin last season, where he did not shine, but in the current one he settled in the starting 11 first of Kovačević, and then of Šafarić.
