Christopher Lenz was officially farewelled as his contract with RB Leipzig expired.

RB Leipzig did not exercise the option to renew the contract for another twelve months. Lenz had joined from Eintracht Frankfurt a year ago and played eight matches last season. Sporting director Rouven Schroder stated that Lenz has the qualities to play as a starter in a Bundesliga team.
