Bartol Franjic, who played last season on loan for Bundesliga relegated team Darmstadt, will not return to Wolfsburg for the new season. He will be loaned to Shakhtar Donetsk. This loan move allows him to play in the Champions League for the first time, with Shakhtar Donetsk playing their home games for the 2024/25 season at the Arena auf Schalke in Germany.

Bartol Franjić is leaving Wolfsburg after two years to join Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. He joined Wolfsburg two years ago for 7.5 million euros from Dinamo. Franjić has 15 appearances for the Croatian U-21 national team and will join the Croatian contingent led by sports director Darijo Srna and coach Marin Pušić at Shakhtar.
