Alexander Isak: Newcastle United Contract Extension

Rumors have suggested that negotiations have stalled between Newcastle United and Alexander Isak over a contract extension. However, Isak has stated that these stories are not true and expressed his full commitment to Newcastle United, aiming for a successful season with the club.

Negotiations over a new contract with improved terms for the 25-year-old began at the end of last season, according to the 'Daily Mail', but have now been halted due to financial complications. Eddie Howe stated, "I'm sure there will be further talks between Alex, his representatives, and the club, but at this moment, Alex just needs to focus on football."

Newcastle United is unable to afford a contract extension with striker Alexander Isak in the near future. At today's Magpies press conference, Newcastle coach Eddie Howe acknowledged that the situation is not straightforward. He mentioned that Isak already has a long contract and emphasized the need for the club to be cautious with their spending due to the PSR rules. Howe expressed their affection for Isak and their desire for him to remain at Newcastle for many more years and score numerous goals for the team. Isak is currently contracted with Newcastle until 2028.

Alexander Isak is interested in extending his contract with Newcastle, following Anthony Gordon's recent long-term deal signing. Newcastle sporting director, Paul Mitchell, planned to tie Isak down to a new deal after signing off on Gordon’s contract. Isak's current deal concludes in June 2028.

Alexander Isak aspires to be the most paid player at Newcastle United, according to TalkSPORT. He would prefer a release clause in his contract similar to Bruno Guimaraes, who currently makes almost £160,000 a week. Newcastle is close to announcing the contract renewal of Anthony Gordon, with Isak soon to follow.

Newcastle United are hoping to ward off interest in Alexander Isak by tying the Swedish striker down to a new contract.
