Real Betis has officially transferred the Brazilian left-back Abner Vinicius to Olympique de Lyon for 8 million euros. Real Betis will receive only 4 million euros as they share 50% of his rights with Atlético Paranaense. Abner joined Real Betis in January 2023 from Atlético Paranaense for slightly less than 5 million euros to replace Álex Moreno, who was transferred to Aston Villa. Abner traveled from Brazil to Lyon, passed medical tests, and finalized the details of his new contract.

Abner will not be part of Betis's first team in Austria as he will be transferred to Olympique de Lyon.
