Yuki Kobayashi Transfer from Celtic to Portimonense

Yuki Kobayashi announced his own departure from Celtic after being unveiled by Portimonense. He moved to Portugal on a three-year deal after spending 18 months at Celtic. Kobayashi did not play under Brendan Rodgers last season and was told he had no future at Celtic. His departure has not been officially acknowledged by Celtic.

Yuki Kobayashi, a 24-year-old central defender trained at Vissel Kobe, joins from Celtic, where he made only seven appearances for the first team in the last year and a half. He has signed a contract for the next four seasons.

Yuki Kobayashi has signed for Portimonense, ending his spell at Celtic. The centre-back sought more game time and was linked with St Mirren but chose Portugal. Portimonense's manager Sérgio Vieira secured a four-year deal for the 24-year-old, making him the main signing in a triple swoop. Kobayashi, brought to Celtic by Ange Postecoglou, made just seven appearances for the Hoops.
