One of the best Swiss footballers of all time, Xherdan Shaqiri (32), has returned to his home club Basel as a free agent. Born in Gnjilane, Kosovo, Shaqiri recently retired from the Swiss national team after 125 games and 32 goals.

Shaqiri has returned to where it all started and signed for Basel. He will be a teammate of Marin Šotiček.

Basel announced that they have signed their former player Xherdan Shaqiri. Shaqiri had previously made his name known globally with his performance at Basel.
