Fofana mentioned that while he considered the offer, his current objective is to succeed at Chelsea. He has a contract with Chelsea until 2029.

Wesley Fofana, in an interview with Free Foot, disclosed that Medhi Benatia, the sporting director of OM, had contacted him to persuade him to return to France and join Olympique Marsiglia. Fofana contemplated the offer but eventually opted to remain at Chelsea. He indicated that his ambition is to succeed at Chelsea and noted that he is under contract until 2029. While Fofana is an admirer of Olympique Marsiglia, he suggested a potential future move to the club.
