Athletic Club de Bilbao has been on the lookout for a central defender for weeks and had started discussions with Celta regarding Unai Núñez, who was not part of his coach's plans. The interest in Núñez dates back some time and was disclosed by AS on August 13. Now, an agreement has been finalized for a one-season loan with an optional purchase clause set at four million euros. The central defender is returning to his former club to bolster Bilbao's defense.

Celta needs to offload Unai Nuñez to make room for new signings.
