Umut Güneş Transfer from Trabzonspor to Śląsk Wrocław
Śląsk Wrocław was on the verge of securing a loan deal for Umut Güneş from Trabzonspor, but the agreement ultimately fell through. Piotr Janas from 'Gazeta Wrocławska' indicated that there is still a chance the midfielder could be persuaded to transfer before the window closes. Back in December, Filip Macuda from Sport.pl highlighted Śląsk Wrocław's interest in Umut Güneş. The player, who was not receiving regular playtime at his current club, was expected to join Oporowska on a temporary basis until the season's end. Nonetheless, the likelihood of acquiring the 24-year-old midfielder has notably diminished, according to confirmation from the sports director of WKS in a conversation with TVP Sport. The director revealed that they had been very close to finalizing the loan when Güneş unexpectedly began playing more frequently for Trabzonspor, casting doubt on the continuation of discussions. Despite this, 'Gazeta Wrocławska' hints at a possible shift in the situation, suggesting that negotiations might be progressing.
Śląsk Wrocław was very close to securing a loan deal for Umut Güneş from Trabzonspor. The club considered him to be one of the most promising players for the Ekstraklasa. However, as Śląsk showed interest, Trabzonspor began playing him more frequently, which diminished the possibility of the loan move. Śląsk's approach was to manage the transfer within their budget, but the increased playtime at Trabzonspor changed the situation.
Śląsk Wrocław had identified Umut Güneş as a potential candidate to bolster their midfield. However, according to 'Gazeta Wrocławska', his prospects of transferring to Poland have significantly diminished as he has recently enhanced his position at Trabzonspor. It was noted that the player had been given several opportunities to play towards the end of the autumn round, participating in 162 minutes over the last five matches, compared to just 99 minutes earlier in the season. Initially, the idea of a loan for the Turkish player was under consideration, as reported by Filip Macuda from Sport.pl.
Śląsk Wrocław is reportedly interested in acquiring Umut Güneş from Trabzonspor, likely on a loan basis. This information was conveyed by Filip Macuda from the portal Sport.pl. Umut Güneş, a 25-year-old Turkish central midfielder, was born in Germany. He spent four years at VfB Stuttgart, primarily playing in youth teams, before transferring to Alanyaspor, where he made 95 appearances, scored six goals, and provided five assists. His performance there led to a transfer to Trabzonspor in the summer of 2023 for 2.3 million euros. At Trabzonspor, Güneş recorded 33 appearances but has only played seven times in the current season, accumulating 244 minutes on the pitch. According to Transfermarkt.de, his market value is 2.7 million euros, which would rank him as the sixth most valuable player in the Ekstraklasa.
