Ajax has made the decision to extend Tristan Gooijer's contract until the summer of 2029, despite his current injury. Gooijer, who had initially been loaned to PEC Zwolle for the season, suffered a serious knee injury but still retains the confidence of Ajax's management. His contract, which was originally set to expire in 2026, will be extended as a gesture of trust from the club. Gooijer, who sustained a cruciate ligament tear just 23 minutes into his first Eredivisie match with PEC Zwolle, is expected to return to action before the season concludes. The 20-year-old defender, a product of Ajax's youth academy, made his debut for the senior team in December 2023 and has since played nine Eredivisie matches for Ajax, who are currently leading the league.
