Tomás Araújo Transfer from Benfica to Paris Saint Germain

Tomas Araujo has signed a new contract with Benfica, which includes a release clause worth €80 million. PSG considered Araujo last summer, although no transfer took place. His new release clause means he is now available for transfer if PSG decides to meet it.

PSG has expressed interest in Tomas Araujo as they look to bolster their defense, particularly with the potential exit of Milan Skriniar. However, despite PSG's interest, Benfica's coach Roger Schmidt has highlighted Tomas Araujo's critical role at the club, indicating that he will definitely stay with Benfica. The player is contracted until 2028, and recent reports indicate he is nearing an agreement to extend his contract until 2029 with a substantial salary increase. To secure his services, PSG would need to trigger his release clause, which is set at 100 million euros.

PSG contacted Benfica regarding Tomás Araújo, but similar to Chelsea, no formal proposal was made. Benfica deems the player non-negotiable.

PSG had identified Tomas Araujo as a potential signing due to the possible departure of Milan Skriniar to Al-Nassr. However, the player will not leave, at least not this summer, according to Record.

Tomas Araujo, a 22-year-old Portuguese central defender, is on PSG's list. He has started the first three matches of the championship as a starter for Benfica. PSG will only pursue this if Milan Skriniar departs.

PSG is interested in Tomás Araújo as a potential replacement for Milan Skriniar, who might leave the club. The information comes from the French publication L’Equipe.
