Tom Krauß Transfer from FSV Mainz 05 to VfL Bochum 1848

Tom Krauß is set to return to German professional football, moving from Luton Town to VfL Bochum. The transfer is structured as a loan without a purchase option. Initially, his loan from 1. FSV Mainz 05 to the English second division was terminated, but he will not be heading back to Mainz immediately, where he remains under contract until 2027. During his time with Luton, Krauß participated in 23 competitive matches, accumulating six points. VfL Bochum's head coach, Dieter Hecking, who previously worked with Krauß at 1.FC Nürnberg, highlighted Krauß's qualities and experience, noting them as impressive for his young age. Krauß reportedly expressed his happiness about returning to Germany and being nearer to his family, and he is convinced that joining VfL Bochum is the right decision, as assured by Hecking.

Tom Krauß is expected to make a return to the Bundesliga soon. According to the VfL-Magazin, a transfer of the former DFB junior national player to VfL Bochum is close to completion. Krauß is under contract with Mainz 05 until 2027. He had been on loan to the English second division club Luton Town for the first half of the season, but this loan agreement is being terminated, allowing the midfielder to be loaned to Bochum instead. Despite his young age of 23, Krauß has significant experience in relegation battles, having been part of Schalke 04's squad during their relegation in the 2022/23 season and contributing to Mainz's survival the following year. He is also currently engaged in a relegation battle with Luton.
