Due to Valladolid's financial difficulties, they could not complete the transfer. The transfer was supposed to include Salazar as part of the deal, which has also fallen through.

The deal was considered closed for over two weeks and included a payment of 1.25 million euros with an additional 750,000 euros in easily achievable variables. However, due to La Liga's salary cap restrictions affecting Valladolid, the club was unable to finalize the agreement. Despite prolonged negotiations and multiple attempts, the deal fell through. Tiago Araújo had even traveled to Spain for medical examinations and photos for his presentation, but returned to Portugal without an agreement.

The operation was so advanced that Tiago Araujo, with permission from Estoril, traveled to Valladolid on June 30 and stayed in a hotel until Thursday morning. However, the transfer was not finalized due to Real Valladolid's unresolved financial issues, despite the transfer fee being less than 1.2 million euros. The player had even undergone a medical examination and taken photos for the announcement, but the deal was not concluded.

Real Valladolid is optimistic about the final stage of negotiations with Estoril for Tiago Araújo.
