Thiago Almada Transfer from Botafogo to River Plate
Thiago Almada showed interest in playing for River Plate in the future. He mentioned his openness to considering playing for one of Argentina's two biggest clubs, Boca Juniors or River Plate, with a preference for Vélez, his former club. Almada, who had recently departed from Botafogo after securing victories in the Brasileirão and CONMEBOL Libertadores, is scheduled to join Lyon in France on January 5, 2025, as part of a pre-arranged transfer agreement established when he moved from Atlanta United to Botafogo. Despite his impending move to Europe, Almada conveyed his ambition to eventually return to Argentina and play for one of these top clubs.
