Sebastián Driussi Transfer from Austin to River Plate

Sebastián Driussi returns to River Plate, the club where he started his career, after seven and a half years. The transfer from Austin, United States, was completed for 10 million dollars. Before joining Austin, Driussi spent four seasons with Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia, who had bought him from River Plate for 20 million dollars in 2017.

Sebastián Driussi has joined River Plate as a new reinforcement. This addition is expected to create strong internal competition and improve the team's performance for the rest of the year.

Sebastián Driussi conveyed a strong desire to return to River Plate, the club where he began his career and of which he is a devoted supporter. He demonstrated his intentions by refusing to travel to Austin's pre-season. River Plate submitted an offer of 6 million dollars, but Austin is holding out for approximately 9 million dollars. Although he received a lucrative proposal from Estudiantes de La Plata, which included a significant contract and a formal bid of 10.5 million dollars plus bonuses, Driussi declined it, reiterating his commitment to rejoin River Plate. His choice to reject Estudiantes' offer, which would have positioned him among the highest-paid players in Argentine football, highlights his steadfast dedication to wearing the River Plate jersey once again.
