Santiago Mouriño transferred to Deportivo Alavés from Atlético de Madrid to help create space in the salary cap.

Deportivo Alaves and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Santiago Mouriño. The player has signed a five-year contract with the Vitoria-based club.

The transfer is expected to be announced between August 26 and 27. Mouriño will leave Atlético without having officially debuted. The transfer is intended to be a permanent one, unlike his previous loan to Real Zaragoza. Atlético may include a buy-back option to retain some control over the player.
