S. Ricci Transfer from Torino to Lazio
In the summer of 2023, Lazio's coach Sarri wanted Samuele Ricci at Formello as he was seen as perfect for their passing game. However, Lazio's president Lotito faced difficulties with Torino's president Cairo, who demanded 25 million euros for Ricci. This led to Lotito abandoning the pursuit and instead focusing on acquiring Nicolo Rovella.
Samuele Ricci, a pivotal player for Torino under the guidance of coach Vanoli, has drawn interest from several Serie A clubs. Among these clubs is Lazio, which recently made an unsuccessful attempt to acquire him. Torino's president, Cairo, expressed optimism about Ricci's potential to generate significant revenue in the future. Ricci's market value has doubled since his transfer from Empoli to Torino. Initially purchased for less than 10 million in 2022, his value is now estimated at a minimum of 35 million, with the potential to rise to 40 million by the season's end, particularly due to his involvement with the national team.
In the summer of 2023, Torino rejected an offer from Lazio of 20 million EUR plus 5 million EUR in bonuses, demanding 25 million EUR plus bonuses instead. Currently, his valuation is around 30-35 million EUR.
In August 2023, Lazio made a serious approach for Samuele Ricci. They had contacts with the player's agent and made an initial offer to Torino, which was rejected. Lazio then proposed 15 million plus 5 million in bonuses, but Torino demanded at least 25 million. The negotiations were conducted by the presidents of both clubs. Eventually, Lazio abandoned the pursuit.
Samuele Ricci is highly desired by Sarri for his Lazio team. The coach had asked Lotito to make an attempt. Last summer, the Lazio president had made a proposal of 15 million fixed part plus 5 million in bonuses, but Torino's request was 25 million in total and the negotiation stalled. Torino was waiting for a boost from Lazio, but no other offers have arrived after that.
