S. Lammers Transfer from Rangers to FC Twente
Sam Lammers, who previously played for Atalanta, Empoli, and Sampdoria, is returning to the Netherlands. He is transferring from Rangers FC to FC Twente. Lammers has signed a contract with FC Twente until mid-2027. He spent the last six months on loan at FC Utrecht.
Dutch club FC Twente are in talks over a deal to sign Rangers forward Sam Lammers. The deal is worth over £2m. Lammers joined Rangers last summer for around £3.5m but spent the second half of the season on loan at FC Utrecht, scoring 11 goals in 20 games. He was of interest to various Eredivisie sides.
Sam Lammers is very close to joining Twente. The Dutch forward returned to Glasgow Rangers after a successful loan at Utrecht, where he scored 11 goals in 20 appearances. Despite signing a four-year contract with Rangers after being bought for 4 million euros from Atalanta, he may leave permanently after just one season.
The news from Scotland is a bad omen for FC Twente, which had listed Lammers' name as a summer reinforcement for its attack after the winter transfer market closed. Twente instead strengthened their ranks with Myron Boadu, who will return to Monaco after this season. In addition to Lammers, Twente also has former Manchester United forward Wout Weghorst in mind as a summer signing.
