Aston Villa coach Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi met with the Barcelona board to discuss Araujo. The talks were positive, with Barcelona happy to sell Araujo at the right price. Emery and Monchi also believe that Araujo is happy to join Aston Villa, who will be in the Champions League next season unlike Chelsea and Man Utd. Barcelona are ready to sell him if the right offer comes in. Barcelona believe they can raise over €80 million through a sale, which will go a long way to helping pay off the debts amidst the Blaugrana’s well-publicised financial problems of the last few years.
