Ron-Robert Zieler: Hannover 96 Contract Extension
Ron-Robert Zieler has extended his contract with Hannover 96 until 2026. The negotiations were quick this time, unlike the previous year. Zieler agreed to a nearly 50% reduction in his base salary and accepted a one-year extension. Zieler has expressed his strong attachment to Hannover 96 and his enjoyment of training and being with the team. He has been with Hannover 96 for almost eleven years, with interruptions, and has been the team's captain since 2022.
Hannover 96's sporting director, Marcus Mann, revealed plans to meet with Ron-Robert Zieler during the winter break to discuss extending his contract. He indicated that a quick agreement is likely, as a major negotiation battle is not anticipated this time, unlike the situation a few months ago. Previously, Zieler and Hannover 96 had settled on a one-year contract following extensive negotiations that centered on financial matters. Zieler, who had earlier negotiated a seven-figure first-league contract with former manager Jan Schlaudraff, had agreed to extend his contract until 2025 despite the club's financial constraints.
World champion Ron-Robert Zieler is the face of Hannover 96. His contract expires at the end of the season. The goalkeeper has already made plans for his future.
Contract extension negotiations are underway, expected to sign after the important game in Braunschweig.
