Rober Gonzalez has been loaned to Racing Santander for the upcoming half-year period, marking his return to Spain. After joining NEC permanently last summer following a loan from Real Betis, Gonzalez has found himself less involved in matches this season. During the first half of the season, he managed to score two goals in nineteen official appearances for NEC, starting in fourteen of those games. Technical director Carlos Aalbers indicated that the loan arrangement serves as a beneficial solution for all involved, expressing his hopes for Gonzalez's success in his pursuit of promotion to the top tier of Spanish football. Gonzalez remains under contract with NEC until the summer of 2027, and it remains uncertain whether Santander holds an option to purchase.
