Renato Tapia leaving Celta de Vigo?

Renato Tapia will officially leave Celta in eight days. Initial contract renewal negotiations with Celta failed due to his high economic demands. Tapia is currently without any confirmed offers from other clubs.

Renato Tapia's contract with Celta de Vigo ends on 30th of June. He has announced that he will not renew his contract with the Spanish club, making him a free player from the end of June. The player has decided not to participate in the Copa América 2024 due to the lack of insurance in case of serious injury.

Renato Tapia, a 28-year-old player from Celta, whose contract ends on June 30 and will leave the discipline of the Galician team, has decided not to play the next matches of his national team, Peru, to not jeopardize his future. After the federation of that country announced that Tapia was not part of the call for these matches due to 'administrative issues', the footballer published on social networks a statement in which he assured that 'participating in training and matches in this context means a very high risk for my personal and professional future', referring to the damage that could be caused by suffering an injury when he has to find a new club in the transfer market.

The contract has expired and seeking his stay at the club would practically mean buying him again. The talks are on hold and we know he has some offers. We would need to see how the market evolves to make him an offer.
