Rasmus Winther Højlund leaving Manchester United?

Gary Neville thinks Man Utd should sign a new striker to support Rasmus Hojlund. Hojlund has endured an up-and-down first season at Old Trafford since a £64m move from Atalanta last summer. He netted five goals in Man Utd's otherwise miserable Champions League group stage campaign, but had to wait until December 26 to break his Premier League duck. The Danish international has since gone on to score seven more times in the league from an xG of just 7.4. But without another senior striker and Man Utd having scored only 52 times all season - just twice more than 18th-placed Luton Town - Neville said the club has a pressing need for other options in their attack.

Rasmus Hojlund was recruited from Atalanta last summer for €74 million and initially struggled to make his mark in the Premier League. However, he hit a purple patch of form that suggested he would come good. But, the 21-year-old has regressed again, scoring one goal in 10 appearances since an injury. There are players who are reticent to pass to the Denmark international because they do not trust his ability.

Erik ten Hag, the coach of Manchester United, has implied that despite Rasmus Hojlund's successful performance this season, the club might need to bring in a new striker. His comments suggest that Hojlund might not have met the club's expectations despite his impressive goal tally.
