Union Berlin's desired player Ragnar Ache (26) from Kaiserslautern was on the verge of a transfer on Friday morning, but the deal was close to falling through.

Union Berlin has been attempting to secure Ragnar Ache for several weeks, but the clubs have yet to come to terms. Kaiserslautern turned down an initial offer of 3.5 million EUR and a follow-up proposal. Thomas Hengen, the CEO of Kaiserslautern, is reportedly asking for 6 million EUR. As of Friday noon, reports suggest that the deal has fallen through, with Union Berlin withdrawing from the negotiations. Nevertheless, given Union Berlin's pressing need for a striker, there is speculation about whether they will eventually agree to Kaiserslautern's demands.

Union Berlin is interested in signing Ragnar Ache from Kaiserslautern. However, both clubs have not reached an agreement. Kaiserslautern is asking for a transfer fee of six million euros and needs a replacement for Ache.

Union Berlin has collected around three to four million euros for the striker. However, according to German sources, they might need to offer five million euros to acquire him. Ache's 16 goals helped Kaiserslautern stay in the league.
