Rafael Fernandes Transfer from LOSC Lille to Rangers
Daily Record reports on Rafael Fernandes' imminent loan move to Rangers. Rafael Fernandes has reportedly arrived in Scotland to finalize a loan move to Rangers. He was shown around Ibrox as talks on a six-month loan deal took place with his current club, Lille. Philippe Clement, Rangers' manager, is keen on Fernandes to address the club's defensive issues due to injuries. It remains uncertain if there will be an option to make the move permanent.
Rangers are reportedly on the verge of signing defender Rafael Fernandes from Lille. Philippe Clement is urgently seeking defensive reinforcements following Robin Propper's injury during the victory over Aberdeen, which has left Leon Balogun as the only available senior centre-back. John Souttar, Dujon Sterling, and Neraysho Kasanwirjo are already out due to injuries. According to The Sun, negotiations are ongoing between the Ligue 1 club and Rangers regarding a deal for the 22-year-old Fernandes, with French clubs Toulouse and Angers also showing interest this month. Fernandes, who transferred from Portuguese club Arouca for £2 million a year ago, has yet to make a first-team appearance for Lille and is reportedly eager to increase his playing time. This transfer is seen as a response to the Light Blues' defensive issues, especially as Marseille's Bamo Meite seems no longer an option with Montpellier initiating talks for a loan deal.
