Piotr Liszewski Transfer from Piast Gliwice to Resovia Rzeszów
Piast Gliwice and Resovia have announced that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of Piotr Liszewski. The 20-year-old footballer is set to move two divisions down from the Ekstraklasa. The agreement involves a half-year loan between the two clubs. Liszewski, known for his versatility, primarily plays as a right-back but is also capable of playing as a central defender and a defensive midfielder. He joined Piast in 2020 and initially developed with the U-19 team before moving on to train with the reserves. He made his debut for the first team in the Ekstraklasa on March 1, 2024, in a match against Ruch Chorzów. Subsequently, he also appeared as a substitute in a game against ŁKS Łódź. His contract with Piast is valid until the end of June 2026, with an option for a 12-month extension if both parties find the collaboration satisfactory. Resovia, who were relegated from the I liga, finished the winter break as the ninth team in the table, five points away from the playoff zone for promotion.
Piotr Liszewski is set to depart Piast Gliwice in the winter for a loan spell at second-division club Resovia Rzeszów. The club reportedly has a specific development plan for him, as mentioned by Kamil Bętkowski on the X portal. Hailing from Warsaw, Liszewski is beginning to acclimate to senior football, having made two appearances for Piast's first team last season. The transfer to Resovia is aimed at providing him with more playing opportunities. The 20-year-old defender, who remains under contract with Piast until June 30, 2026, accumulated a total of eleven minutes in his two appearances, which occurred in league matches against Ruch Chorzów and ŁKS Łódź.
