Kyu-hyun Park leaving Dynamo Dresden?

CalcioMercato has reported that Kyu-Hyun Park will transfer from Dynamo Dresden to Daejeon Hana Citizen FC starting in January. Park, who has been dealing with a long-standing pubic bone injury, has not played this season and was released from training duties at Dresden. According to Thomas Brendel, the sports director at Dynamo Dresden, the high competition for Park's position made it clear that seeking a new challenge in his home country would be the best step for him. Park initially joined Dresden on loan from Werder Bremen before being signed permanently.

Kyu-hyun Park departs Dynamo Dresden to join Daejeon Hana Citizen FC in South Korea starting January 1st. Released from training, Park will not play for Dresden anymore. Previously, he failed a medical in Belgium amid adductor issues, preventing a transfer. With improved health after dental surgery, Dresden expedited his transfer due to competition for his position. Park, a former Asian Championship winner, had been exempt from military service. Dresden, potentially receiving a transfer fee, now saves on his salary, enabling winter squad reinforcements.

Dynamo Dresden wanted to transfer Kyu-hyun Park during the summer break. However, the transfer to a Belgian second division club failed because Park did not pass the medical check.

There are still no takers for left-back Kyu-hyun Park (23).

A return to his homeland, South Korea, seemed possible at one point. However, the transfer window in South Korea closed on July 31. If anything, Park could be registered there starting from January.

Kyu-hyun Park has been informed for six weeks that he can leave Dynamo Dresden by the end of the transfer period on Monday. Two clubs showed interest: a Greek First Division club and a Belgian Second Division club. However, both transfers fell through at the last minute, causing Dynamo Dresden to miss out on a five-figure transfer fee.
