Otávio leaving Porto?
Paris FC is currently in negotiations with FC Porto for the transfer of Otavio, a 23-year-old Brazilian defender. The player is under contract with FC Porto until 2028. The discussions are reported to be well advanced, and the deal could be finalized soon according to a source close to the situation.
Paris FC is in discussions with Otávio, a former Flamengo and Famalicão player, who joined FC Porto for 12.3 million euros in winter 2024. Despite a release clause of 50 million euros, Paris FC aims to secure his transfer for a significantly lower fee due to his current lack of playtime at Porto. Otávio's contract with Porto runs until June 2028, but his limited playtime has led to Paris FC's interest in strengthening their defense with him.
Porto is planning to sell Otávio as part of a strategy to swap players who do not have much space in the team and to generate financial resources.
Otávio's future at FC Porto is uncertain due to off-field issues, including involvement in a controversial night out. The club is not willing to sell him for less than 10 million euros, the amount paid to Famalicão for 80% of his rights.
Otávio was previously transferred for 39.6 million euros, a record that Evanilson's potential transfer could surpass.
Otávio is on the list of Bolonha as an alternative to Hummels. He is seen as a possible successor to Calafiori, who transferred to Arsenal.
Otávio's €60m move from Porto to the Saudi Pro League.
Otavio transferred from Porto to Al-Nassr for 60 million euros.
The outgoing administration led by Pinto da Costa received €19 million earlier from Al-Nassr as part of Otávio's transfer. The money was used before the elections to cover current expenses, salaries, taxes, and payments to clubs for other footballer transfers.
Otávio was sold to Al-Nassr for 60 million euros. Two tranches of the total amount have been paid, with the last tranche of 19 million euros due in July 2025.
FC Porto could already sell Otávio for twice as much, according to Miguel Ribeiro, president of Famalicão's SAD. He praised the player's quality, speed, left foot, and age. He suggested that FC Porto could sell him with just a phone call.
