SV Wehen Wiesbaden has signed Orestis Kiomourtzoglou (26) from SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The German-Greek midfielder moved in the summer of 2023 from Scottish Premiership club Heart of Midlothian to Mittelfranken, where he struggled to make an impact in the defensive midfield role, playing only eight competitive matches for the Kleeblatt.

Orestis Kiomourtzoglou continues to train with SpVgg Greuther Fürth but is unlikely to have a future under coach Alexander Zorniger. He did not play in the two recent test matches. The transfer from Hearts of Midlothian to SpVgg Greuther Fürth has been disappointing for both the player and the club.
