Lyon have swooped for Nottingham Forest and Belgium midfielder Orel Mangala.

Orel Mangala has officially joined Olympique Lyonnais. The midfielder, after leaving the Premier League and Nottingham Forest, has signed with OL until June 30, 2028. The agreement between the clubs is for a deal worth approximately 23.4 million euros, with Nottingham Forest retaining a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfers. Mangala had been on loan at Lyon since January, playing 12 matches in the second half of the season and scoring 2 decisive goals against Nice and Clermont.

Lyon has activated the purchase option for Orel Mangala. The Belgian midfielder was on loan for half a season at the French club after leaving Nottingham Forest in February. Mangala played 12 matches for Lyon, scoring 2 goals. His consistent performances earned him a call-up to Euro 2024, where he played for Belgium.
