Burnley have acquired defender Oliver Sonne from Danish club Silkeborg. The Peru right-back marks Clarets manager Scott Parker’s first signing for the January transfer window, having agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract. Sonne, who is 24 years old and the nephew of supermodel Helena Christensen, has participated in over 100 matches in Denmark’s top division. Following his unveiling on New Year's Eve, he conveyed his excitement and ambition to assist Burnley in their quest to return to the Premier League. The club is presently in third place in the Championship, trailing Sheffield United by just three points, as they strive for an immediate return to the Premier League after being relegated last season.
