Nonetheless, Toronto FC ended up securing his signature. The MLS club revealed over the weekend that they had acquired the 25-year-old on loan from FC Midtjylland. Brynhildsen is set to remain with Toronto until the year's end, with a purchase option exceeding three million euros, a sum that was higher than Legia's offer. Previously, Brynhildsen had transferred to Midtjylland in 2023 from Molde for 2.5 million euros, and had briefly returned to the Norwegian club, where he accumulated 54 goals in 156 matches. At Midtjylland, he found the net eight times in 38 games.
