Nicolò Zaniolo: Galatasaray Contract Extension
CalcioMercato has provided an update on the current loan situation of Nicolò Zaniolo and the potential future negotiations between Fiorentina and Galatasaray. Nicolò Zaniolo is on loan from Galatasaray to Fiorentina. The initial agreement reportedly included a loan fee of 3.2 million euros with an option to buy for 15.5 million euros. This option was set to become an obligation if Zaniolo participated in 60% of the matches, playing at least 30 minutes in each. However, as Zaniolo has not met these conditions, Fiorentina is not required to purchase him. Fiorentina still holds the right to purchase, but it seems unlikely they will do so under the previously agreed terms. The club might either negotiate a new agreement with Galatasaray at reduced terms or decide to part ways after the season concludes.
Fiorentina will not exercise the buyout option for Nicolò Zaniolo under the conditions agreed last January with Galatasaray. Zaniolo has only played 30 minutes in 4 of the 21 matches for Fiorentina. He would need to play 10 more matches for the buyout obligation to be triggered, which is impossible as Fiorentina has only nine matches left in the 2024/25 season. Galatasaray is interested in renegotiating the deal, but it's complicated due to Zaniolo's lack of assurance as a player.
Nicolò Zaniolo is currently on loan at Fiorentina from Galatasaray with an obligation to buy for 15.5 million euros plus 2 million euros in bonuses if 60% of the matches are played by him for at least 30 minutes each. However, the conditions for this obligation to be triggered are far from being met. Fiorentina intends to give Zaniolo another chance and might consider a new loan for the 2025-2026 season without committing financially at the end of the current season. This is contingent on Zaniolo significantly improving his performance by the end of the season.
Nicolò Zaniolo has moved to Galatasaray after his time at Atalanta, where he didn't make a significant impact.
Nicolo Zaniolo is a high-level player who was followed for five years. He has a chance to be with Galatasaray again next season, even though he had an injury before. His skills are very close to scoring, and he was a player that could have been used effectively if he stayed.
