Nicolas Fonseca leaving River Plate?

Nicolás Fonseca, son of the former striker and now agent, Daniel Fonseca, has officially become a player of Club Leon. The 26-year-old central midfielder, born in Naples and raised in Italy, has signed a contract that will be valid until December 31, 2028. He joins James Rodriguez in Mexico, leaving River Plate where he was unable to fully make his mark despite a recent national team call-up (3 caps with the Celeste).

Nicolás Fonseca, a Uruguayan midfielder, is linked with a potential move to Inter, de Porto Alegre. The club is reportedly willing to buy at least a part of his transfer rights. Fonseca's move would free up a foreign player slot at River Plate. River Plate had acquired 60% of Fonseca's rights for $2,257,000 USD. Fonseca has not played in the last 12 matches and was not included in the squad for the last two matches of the year.

Nicolás Fonseca is identified as a player who might leave River Plate. Like others, he is seen as a backup and not crucial to the team, indicating he may be part of the expected departures.
